I’ve looked at the usual sources, including the excellent Rubber FAQ on this forum and the parts catalogue, however haven’t been able to identify this rubber. It’s from the rear quarter glass. Maybe it’s not genuine, however it’s condition suggests it is. Any suggestions please?
how long is the piece of rubber? that is generally the clue as to where it goes. i know i haven't put that piece into place yet as it doesn't look that familiar. that looks like a piece that would be on a panel in one of the wheel wells
It goes between rear side window trim and roof
I thought so too but the rubber profile doesn’t match the parts diagram or FAQ pictures. It’s about the right length for this section.
Those drawings are pretty poor.
looks right - it goes on the polished aluminum cover panel that goes on the B pillar. here's a pic from W+N website, it is NLA from BMW. i have put mine on the car and it fit perfectly - if i remember correctly, i just trimmed off about 1" or so.
