Hey!! How do I get the e-brake handle off to fix the release and clean up the handle?

Ok, probably the best solution. I’m sure the handle is glued on….. gotta love W&N!!!!
you could try sliding a feeler gauge up in and around to see if you can get enough separated to get it to come off
Never seen one glued on - just friction fit.
Toss it in the freezer, perhaps the relative difference in contraction will allow some separation. Or you can do what I did since the thing is not that attractive to start with......and yes Drew, I know I have to reverse my blanks and rear window switches.

I would spray some silicone around the interface between the plastic grip and the metal lever (unless you plan on repainting your lever). After it has soaked in for a few minutes, I would use a block of wood as an impact tool, put it against the bottom end of the grip and tap it upward with a hammer to try to break it loose. Or warm it with a heat gun, instead of using the silicone, before tapping on it.

Yeah, it’s off already. I’m doing a nuts and bolts restoration of the car and I’m in the assembly phase now. Pretty much stock except suspension and a 5-speed conversion.

Oops sorry I was asking for myself. What does taking the ebrake entail? I took a quick look and it does not look like an easy project. I may figure out how to paint in place
It is a bit of a PIA to put it back together. The walnut laminate I used was quarter-sawed with a 3M adhesive backing. I soaked it a few times to get it to bend around the E-brake, that did not affect the adhesive, nor did the wood split.

You will need three hands to reinstall the e-brake, been there done that!
Do the Paul Cain upgrade while you're at it.
I did the Paul Cain upgrade when doing the interior work. Taking it apart was easy, and putting it back together did indeed feel like I needed another hand or even two.
THANK YOU ALL. So many other projects to do I will pass on this one based on the comments.
I have found using light test monofilament fishing line to hold stuff in place, to be very helpful when not enough hands. It does not interfere with fitment, then just cut and pull when done, comes out clean in one piece.
