I will do exactly that! He is already putting together a package for me.You know you can get the whole package with 2 buckets and 4 lamps with bulbs already re-finished for €500 ?
Check with Tomhom
Perhaps you have insight into these things. All of the euro buckets sent by Tomhom all have the white nylon adjusters and a different bucket that mounts the headlights. The US versions have the black glued knob and a headlight bucket with legs to adjust the lens. It seems that I have one of each which is likely ok, but just bothers me that they aren't the same. I intend to use H1 and H4 lamps so I am wondering if I need the Euro buckets? Can you send a photo of what you have? Price is fine if that is what I need.one looks a little rusty, i would sell a nicer pair for 300 plus shipping.
Thank you Chris. Any issue using those buckets with a Euro head light swap?
The buckets are in fact different. My black adjusting knob bucket has a flat bar welded across the middle from top to bottom. The white knob one does not. And has a hole which I think is for lamp washers.I just looked in the orange parts book. It shows all coupes used the black adjusting nut except 2.5CS. Then it shows the black adjusting nut discontinued and replaced by the long white one but strangely says US 3.0CS used these. I think what happened is that they transitioned to the white adjusters in 1975. This same part is used in e12 and e24. Both of my May 1973 coupes had the black adjusters. And there is no separate part number for the buckets themselves.
I can post a photo. The buckets are definitely not the same. The white knobs bear on the bucket itself. The black ones use a bucket with what looks like a foot on them. Perhaps they fingion the same but they are clearly not interchangeable. The bucket itself has a notch cut out for the legs.Yes, each knob has a slightly different mount to them. The fact that US coupes with sealed beam headlight assemblies also hold the euro Hella H1 lamps tells me the bucket itself is the same.
Also of note, when I bought my first e9 in 2005 the right side bucket had the white adjuster, but, that side had half of the front fender replaced so it made sense that the headlight assembly had also been replaced hence the white adjuster.
