When I did my interior project I added a paint-on thermal barrier inside the cabin, then sound deadening adhesive mat on the floors and inside the door cavities, then a very heavy lay-in mat on top of which went the carpet. The products I used were from
second skin audio.
- Spectrum spray in deadener
- damplifier pro adhesive mat
- luxury liner pro sound barrier
- underneath the door cards and in a few other places I used their "overkill closed cell foam"
In the picture below you can see the sound barrier on top of the adhesive mat.

After all was done I still had a lot of heat infiltration from the exhaust, and later added an exhaust shielding that is attached to the headers and exhaust from the end of the headers to about the mid resonator via clamps. This made a huge difference in the excessive cabin heating, especially when combined with an
electrically operated heater diverter valve.
