Thoughts on leather color for Ceylon?

Hi all, I am trying to decide on interior color for a Ceylon. Many seem to go for black but I am not a great fan of black. I am thinking more along the lines of a darker tone cream for the seats but am not sure it works for the doors. Any thoughts on colors for seats and doors and/or pictures are much appreciated.

Was a creamish leather ever available, I could not find any evidence?

Something like this saddle/tobacco could maybe work as well.

It took a lot of scrolling Google photos to see anything other than black interior on your color.
Tan looks ok but not as good as black.
 
the 1st ceylon that i saw was the one that Steve refers to with a beautiful + rich tan interior. i can't find the photos of that car but i did really like it. i do love the black + brown pics that you have attached ... its really lovely but i wonder if the 'tobacco' color would be great with ceylon. i do love the black seat backs + door panels / carpet with the brown seats ... it really ties the wood / black panels together with the seats. with my ceylon i am using charcoal carpet, black panels and black scheel cloth (sport) seats, with some black vinyl as done in a CSL. if you are set on tan with ceylon, make sure its the darker tan, somewhat of a gold tan ... not a beige tan ... and i would go with black door panels + black carpet ... and probably black seatbacks on the front seats.

My 73 started life with a "tan" interior or so I was told. Two owners back it was converted to black with replaced material or dyed. I could not imagine it with a light interior. The tobacco or the color that I can only describe as baseball glove brown might be cool. On a side note. When the conversion was done the headliner was made black. That is the only thing I would change back to original.

I know of a couple of either Nightblue or Atlantic with a white that I know was OEM, as I have some of a white interior in the "car barn". Barney Toler's car originally had the white....not sure what it was called. All that said, I might disagree with some others; I think that might be pretty nice and fresh looking with Ceylon....that's what makes horse races...

I had not really considered two-tone seats before seeing that but it certainly has its appeal. Keeping sides and carpets black is also a good idea but makes the choice of seat color a little trickier. It does not have to be tan, but I lean towards some tone of brown. Unless going for something totally different, just to get the contrast, one friend was recommending a red interior :)
 
I really like the saddle/tobacco but I wonder how I would feel about it in 10 years. The safe bet is to keep your car's exterior/interior a color combination that was originally offered. So I would go with Black or Tan interior.
