Looking for the above for my 72 Sahara Coupe. Not in a hurry. Another good reason to NOT drive our Coupes in the rain at 80 MPH on the Freeway. I know where the one I had came off but I'm hoping buying a replacement is less costly than the value of my life trying to fetch it on the inside median.
Regards, Jon

Originally they were stainless steel.

As I was preparing for the BMWCCCA 20th anniversary tour I replaced my wiper blades and I found that the clips for the arm capture mechanism were no longer engaging.

They are designed to snap in place around the splines of the wiper drive assembly. With age the tension is lost and that will allow the arms to fly off with the force of wind.

I followed the write up by @Stevehose to drill and tap for a small set screw on the underside of the blade. The set screw now creates a limit for movement of the arm on the shaft so they cannot fly off or be easily removed by someone looking to walk away with the arms.

The 2800CS had chrome arms and blade holders. The US DOT mandated the stainless satin arms that we got in 72 on the 3.0CS. Same makers like Mercedes switched to satin in 71 on the 280SL.

my 2800cs (feb 1971) came with stainless ... or at least to me. could have been changed by a PO

Nice level of obsession guys! Thank you for the history lesson and putting me at the top of the heap but I don't care about the other finishes. I swapped all of the black finishes on my Sahara Coupe because it was just contrasting in color not very appealing. I'm all chrome now including wheel arch hoops and the extra bling sets off the Sahara color nicely. In conclusion "Chrome Windshield Wiper..."

i will look Jon, i know i have a set, but that's for my ceylon. i will see if i happen to have a spare chrome one.

When I bought the set for Sahara it was expensive probably in 2010 so I'm guessing they're harder to find now and still pricey. Still don't think a visit to HWY 101 inside median is worth it. Thanks for the attention and any help is appreciated.
I must say the view out the front windshield is better without a wiper sitting there.

Thanks 3nsahalee for the lead on the NK wipers. The E10 ones look a bit short. I will compare the one I have left on my Coupe with the NK ones.
Drew that may be an option if the chrome ones don't work.
Found out the ones for Mercedes 280 SL DO NOT work on our Coupes. Would have been a good solution as they are still available as new.

Jon, its been crazy around my house (construction) for the past couple of weeks ... will try to get into the garage and see if i do have a spare one, i think i do.

Thanks Scott,
I'll hold off till I hear from you. Not in a rush, first things first.
Regards, Jon

Chris,
Thanks for the measurement. That makes, for me, the NK ones not the solution.
Regards, Jon
