Will these gauges fit our cars?

I saw a picture of them in a 2002 see below

Hmmm... Such a set including a 300 km/h speedo could look nice in a fiberglass racing dashboard :) And GPS would enable use of a six-speed without cable drive. Go away, you demons :)

Those look pretty slick. Too bad their diameter isn't just a bit smaller.... :(

I did buy the SpeedHut gauges, though I ordered separate gauges rather than the BMW set they currently offer. As I'm modifying my dash, I can't tell whether they would fit the original car's dashboard. But it's worth comparing their dimensions with those of the VDO. Also, you can recreate the smaller ones yourself using their customising options. Hope that helps.

@e30strube : Thanks for the dash photo. Very cool.

I tinkered with their website, and I was impressed by all the gauge options. Lettering, indicators, backlight, custom logos, bezels, etc. Nearly infinite customization possibilities... the logo option opens up all kinds of possibilities.

I had a question or two:

1. What interface did you use for the Bavaria gauges? (I assume you're not using aftermarket EFI / ECU with modern CAN-bus)

I'm running Megasquirt, but for the most part, I used the sensors that came with the gauges. I'm also running a m30b35 engine. I used the GPS controller (it can be seen on top of the dash) for the speedometer, connected the tach to the factory Bavaria wiring/engine, gas gauge to a sender in the tank, and coolant to the GM sensor in the tstat housing. The GPS sensor removes the need for the mechanical connection to the transmission. I think they have a connector you can use for a mechanical to electrical signal if you want to maintain that though.

Really nice gauges also.

Forgot... there are a bunch of adapter fittings that can be used to get the GM sensor into the tstat housing. I didn't try to connect a factory sensor, but it would just require a connector change on the Speed Hut gauge wiring if you wanted to try.
