Am I the only person who didn't know this? I looked at my old shifter platform just to start thinking about shortening it for the 5 spd and saw that it already has provisions for the shifter tower where I'd need to put it with the 265. Is this a newer platform or did they just have them made to be multipurpose for different cars? Awesome! It'll just be a easy cut and reweld of the tower portion and shortening the linkage the same amount. Bam!

Check the clearance to the side walls of the tunnel when attached to the 5speed

gotta love @halboyles new shifter platform for the getrag 5 speed. purpose built and only 185 bucks

Four and five speed shifter mounting points different.
Yeah, that was what I was saying. I need to shorten the shifter platform by about 3 1/2" or so, and that second hole is in that spot...like it was planned for something that ended up working out for a 5 spd swap. Then it's just an easy cut/reweld the linkage...I did all that on my 69 1600 with that 5 spd swap. That one I had to actually shorten the platform and rebuild it.

Edit: I see what you meant..the mounting points for the actual platform..gotcha

That is really, really nice, and a very fair price, but also easy to make with scrap metal in the garage...plus, I like the challenge, and to say I did it myself...:-)

That platform may be looking more appealing now that I see the platforms don’t bolt up the same..they changed the back of the 5spd case..I didn’t notice that..
