Do be careful that the gasket matches the shape of the carb body well, especially around the float for the needle valve. I had a gasket that stuck out into the bowl area a bit and after the rebuild, it would stop the float from rising all the way up to shut off the needle valve. This resulted in gas venting from the carb into the air cleaner and pouring onto the ground. Good thing I had recently replaced the spark plug wires so there was no ignition of the spill. Fortunately, I was working on the car in the driveway, not driving it.
