Hi!
Should I apply sealant when changing to new gaskets in the INAT carbs? The large gaskets

Do be careful that the gasket matches the shape of the carb body well, especially around the float for the needle valve. I had a gasket that stuck out into the bowl area a bit and after the rebuild, it would stop the float from rising all the way up to shut off the needle valve. This resulted in gas venting from the carb into the air cleaner and pouring onto the ground. Good thing I had recently replaced the spark plug wires so there was no ignition of the spill. Fortunately, I was working on the car in the driveway, not driving it.

Before yo assemble anything, I would wetsand with some 800 on a piece of glass ( or something flat and a hard surface ) all the individual sections They tend to warp a little and that is usually the biggest issue with these carbs Make sure that the rubber o ring in the base gaskets slightly protrudes above the gasket

Thanks, Rick
