Hi,

I’m in search of a nice (not rusted) BMW M8 x1.25 x 35mm torx bolt (BMW 23001434512) for the bellhousing and the e24/30 adapters for the gear support. See pictures.

Thx!

I just installed my bell housing yesterday and saw that the E28 housing calls for these bolts. I didn’t have them so just used the standard M8x35 bolts from my e9. Worked fine. I’m not sure why they went to those newer style but very hard to find bolts

my guess is that too many people round off the hex bolt because the bolt fuses to the tranny / bellhousing. the torx has more surface area to break it loose.

I doubted about using standard too. But those I also don’t have, and because I see plenty of gearboxes offered online I thought there has to be someone who has this 1 bolt.

The BMW bolt are more dull zinc plated instead of what bellmetric offers. And for some reason it says that I need to ask for a quote instead of being available.

It was used on the 5-6-7 series.

I think there is some manufacturing process efficiency that is gained with the newer bolts.
