I had an Aussie buddy buy a rear brake rebuild kit for my new 323i project. No US supplier and was about $125 to buy direct by me vs $50 bought locally and shipped to me. Can someone suggest the best way to send money to Australia electronically . Bunch of sites, all over the map wrt conversion rate and fees.

i have had money sent to me via paypal with no issue. i have used paypal to buy from @TomHom in Germany with no real issues ... you will pay some fees for money exchange, but if you are paying it without using a credit card its not bad.

Wise

Best deal of all.

Great rates, low fees and insanely fast.

Sent the money to Portugal for the house and saved $9,000 compared to wire with Wells Fargo

It’s not the fee for the transaction that counts it’s the conversion rate that they charge you up to 3%

+1 for Wise! Best rates and constantly updating, not a general rate based on whatever it has been lately.

....also using Wise.

Sending money by PayPal you should be cautious. Use friends&family only if you are sure that you can trust the recipient, no way to get the money back if you don't receive the goods.
Instead offer to pay the rate for extra coverage (~2%).
