Seat track slide stop

Odd little part that has gone missing, maybe years ago

On the seat track there is a metal bracket, maybe 2” long .5 wide, with a ‘bump’ on one end

It is held down with the bolt that holds the seat track to the car

It limits the backwards travel of the seat

thanks, I don't need the rail, this is a little part that attaches, if you have it, maybe you could put it in the box?

Strangely, the parts book list a left and right, not sure what the difference would be

This place (see image) shows them as in stock, which I really don’t believe, but I will try calling them

I have them on my car... originally did not put them on and then had to go back in and remembered them.

A very simple little piece of metal.

Sadly, I knew instantly what part you were referring to. I would buy a thin piece of aluminum at HD, easy to work with and make your own. Someone has these lying around in a box but it's a part that is not on any radar for sure.

yes I agree I might need to make them, they are simple, probably steel over aluminum, on why the parts book has left and right, no idea, I only have, one, it is on the left, but I am not sure that is where it belongs

I think if the seat went past the end of the track something bad might happen
I have not looked at it, maybe the part on the seat or part on the car could be moved aft?
Probably not simple

I would make a metal strip to move mounting point on seat, lower rail can’t move back.

Maybe it would be possible, make a new L bracket for the front, with a longer horizontal leg, weld onto the track, I will have to look at it, how tall are you? not sure if the seat location bothers me or not, I have not driven my car in 30 years, hopefully soon

I mentioned aluminum since it is easy to work with and will not rust and will easily do the job. My left and right look identical btw.

Hi guys
I installed my seats about 2 months ago and you are correct in saying they are different lengths.
The drivers one is the shorter of the 2.

I believe it is to allow that seat go further back in the car as the steering wheel is taking up more of the available cabin space on that side of the car.
That was my understanding of it at the time of reinstalling them anyway.
