My daughter had ordered me a non-official “Lego” E9 for Christmas. Of course given international shipping these days it came from China with arrival in mid-July. I took an hour or two away from construction on the real thing to put this together. It’s pretty clever - she could even choose my license plate number to have as a decal and the interior/exterior color scheme. But you do realize the difference between Swedish engineering and Chinese knock-offs. This holds together but is a bit flimsy - think an E9 with lots of rust in the rocker panels. Fun little tchotchke though

I saw a complete life-size Lego XC-70 at a Volvo dealership years ago, quite impressive

That is very cool, thanks for sharing. Do you have link to order? My son would be very into this.

She ordered it from Etsy - there are a bunch of sellers that will take a picture of your car and make a build and supply the pieces for about $60 - do a search for custom car brick figure. Building it might be hard for him though - the instructions are online and also make you realize how good Lego is at showing how pieces are added on to the build. This was essentially a CAD-style output wherein you can rotate, zoom, etc the model for each step to see how the piece is added but it's a bit more challenging than the classic paper booklet. So I would say it's a fun thing but you may actually have to do the building, he can help you pick out the pieces.
