Needed! The wing nut on top of the power steering reservoir

This M6 wing nut has a 3 tab washer that fits into the depressions on the spring loaded lid on the reservoir.
Mine "had wings" when it "flew" into my engine bay. I looked for a long time above and below for it and only found a lot of grease on my hands and arm laying under the engine.

This wing nut does not have the 3 tab washer attached that fits into the depressions on the reservoir cover. The washer acts as a locking function. I hope to find the correct BMW wingnut from an old reservoir no longer in use.
I have an M6 nut and lock washer holding the lid down now.

Drew, do you have one of those flex/entending magnets? A must for every car guy. I often use it to blindly look for stuff that has dropped. I bat about 500 with these searches so it ain't zero.

There doesn’t appear to be any ” washer” as part number 6 in that realoem diagram.
Number six is rightfully described as a German style thumb or “ring” nut.
A quick look at Schmiedmann catalog shows a picture and a description of a German version of what we Americans call a “wingnut”
