this car 2211343 is one number after Pete's Olympia rally car. this car was the 5th carb CSL and was delivered to Broadspeed in sept 1971. it went to Vasek Polak in 73 and ended up in Sweden in 1999, then Germany in 2008. was put up for sale in feb 2025 at the Sotheby's Paris auction and will be at Sotheby's in Munich soon. of the 169 carb CSL, the ancestry project knows of 56, leaving 113 unknown. would be very curious if anybody in the German coupe club knows about more of these cars.

Curious, that car in pic has on 'Schnitzer' 5-spoke wheels. The early Schnitzer prototype pehaps?

The Broadspeed appears to run a deep basket weave...

Anybody know if the Broadspeed and Schnitzer evolved simultaneously, shared tech?

Fun reading here:

It's a historic car, but been for sale forever. I have tried to buy it a couple of times and may try again. But in my opinion, it has to go back to the Broadspeed livery, bodywork, and how it appeared in that race, which will not be inexpensive. The market for both understanding this car, wanting to pay the price and taking it back to how it should be is extremely small.

Funny story, at one time I was offered it in trade for the 507 Helm Glockler boat, when I was thinking of selling that - which I did......... its now in a great collection in Doha, Qatar sitting behind a 507

That silver spoke CSL Alpina steering wheel on the Broadspeed livery I have to say is one of the best looking steering wheels ever made. In my estimation there may only be less than a handfull in existence, I feel very fortunate to be the caretaker of one in my little collection. Thanks to @Markos tip a few years ago!
