Top systems for Fuel Injection upgrqade

audiokat: How well does your car run once it does start and gets warmed up? If it runs well, the problem is probably as simple as that the chokes aren't closing. But DGAV carbs are pretty inexpensive, especially compared to a full-on conversion to EFI. If no one can repair your carbs, you...

E3's for sale in Southern California

The burgundy NY E3 one could be a deal, yes. But the blacked-out chrome would be the first thing that I would change. I thought that had gone out of style 25 years ago.

    Latin for mechanics

https://www.thisiscolossal.com/2015/10/renaissance-mechanic-portraits/ I had seen them a few years ago - don't remember where - and just did a search like "mechanics picture divinci" to locate them again today. They are on several sites.

    Color Change

I agree with Thomas76: Changing color doesn't have an impact on value, at least not in e9 circles. When you get into vintage Porsches, Ferraris and the like, buyers are a lot more particular (some might say "obsessive"). The other thing that may be obvious, but needs saying, is that you need...

    e28 window motor removal

What do you mean by "regulator"? Are you referring to the mechanism that attaches to the e28 window (commonly called a "window regulator")? Or to the gearbox that is between the motor and the output gear? If the latter, I have no idea of how to separate them. I have removed the two screws...

Need passenger side front window motor - E28 fits E9?

In addition to the circuit breaker thing that Chris mentioned, you can look at your existing motors. If they are the "sardine can" type, with three wires going into them and a separate gearbox, then you have the early style motors and modifications will be needed.

Need passenger side front window motor - E28 fits E9?

Yes, the rear E28 motors will work. And they can be made to fit pre-1974 e9's (I think they'll bolt into 74's). But they won't bolt right in to a pre-'74 car. There used to be a pair of websites that outlined the mechanical and electrical modifications needed for this swap, but when I just...

    Hazard lights/switch stuck 'on'...

There is a fix that takes a bit of effort, but gets around the problem of unreliable replacement switches. See my post #5 in the thread at: https://e9coupe.com/forum/threads/hazard-lights-switch-stuck-on.43697/ , which in turn has a pointer to this thread...

Moisture barrier in doors, yes or no?

OK, I understand your reasons for adhering the barrier to the door. And note that I always have adhered the plastic to the door sheetmetal until this discussion got me thinking about it. Still, next time I have my door apart, I may decide to risk the hazards of the air, smells and noise that...

Moisture barrier in doors, yes or no?

Well, I don't claim to be an expert - maybe I'm missing something. I have to admit that I have always attached the moisture barrier to the door sheet metal, because that's the way the factory did it. And of course, whenever I have just completed my super neat installation, the door mechanism...

Moisture barrier in doors, yes or no?

As long as you have a sheet of plastic blocking any moisture inside the door from the panel, how does the panel know whether that plastic is adhered to the door or to the panel? Why wouldn't it serve equally well as a barrier if it was stuck to the panel? I have used a few coatings of...

Paying income taxes on classic car sales (U.S)

Your accountant is right, though a lot depends on how you sell the car. If it's a private party transaction, the buyer's state DMV is going to ask the price of the car so they can tax it accordingly. But whether he reports it accurately is an unknown to you. Further, unless you live in the...

Are these desirable hubcaps for e3?

The rather terse EBay description says "BMW Hubcaps Rims 2002", which I guess means they fit 13" wheels. So no e3's or e9's need apply.

    Wire cover and hose clamps

sfdon has already answered this, but let me second his answer by saying that you definitely do not want to use regular electrician's tape. The heat and fumes of the engine compartment will melt the adhesive and turn it into a gummy mess. And the texture of the tape isn't correct for an e9...

1971 BMW 2800 CS (San Jose Area)

Yea. It also seems odd that the car has "no rust" yet the air cleaner is so rusted. Still, maybe the seller just doesn't know coupe values today.
