    Centre grille question

Black grille wanted I agree with Steve. I have a 4-slat black grille and it is visually more bulky and less elegant than the 5-slat grille. Anyone have a black 5-slat grille for sale?

    WTB seat latch mechanism

Another day, another challenge! So I dropped off my seats at the upholsterer on Monday. This morning he called to inform me that the driver's seat is missing the two latches, the connecting bar and the little springs that secure the seat back to the lower seat. (I can email a photo of the...

    Hose material?

Guten Tag! Well, I found the exhaust manifold covering plate that I need to attach a hose to the air filter housing so the thermal valve can do its job. But, given the heat generated by the exhaust manifold, I'm not sure what kind of hose I need. (The part is NLA from BMW, of course.) I assume...

WTB - exhaust manifold covering plate

Hi all - Looking for an exhaust manifold covering plate with the small metal lip for connecting a tube/hose to the air cleaner housing. It's NLA part 11621256575 (on diagram 11/48). Anybody have an extra? Thanks, Larry

    East Coast Coupe Fest

Can you make it a bit further south? Hi East Coasters! I routinely drive with 4-6 coupes in the Philadelphia-Central New Jersey area. We'd be happy to join you but New Hampshire is a bit of a hike. However, several of us also own 2002's and we all drive to Lime Rock for the vintage races (and...

    Need high beam help!

My high beams and high beam flashers stopped working. Pretty such it's a short in the dip control switch. Anyone have an extra switch and high beam/low beam stalk (or know where I can get one) so I can flash oncoming coupes? Any help would be appreciated.

    Imola red coupe ?

Loving Imola red I've had two cars in Imola red: An E39 M5 and currently an E86 M Coupe. IMHO it's a classy color that looks great on both large and small cars. Not bright, like a candy apple red, but rich and deep. I'm guessing it will look great on an E9.

I pray that one day I will find Recaro seats!

Remember, not all 320i's came with recaros. Only the relatively few "S" versions were so equipped.

    Spin-on oil filter dilemma

Guten Tag friends! When I bought my 3.0CS, it came with a Purolator spin-on adapter mount for the oil filter. I want to change the oil, but I can't read the Purolator filter model number. It appears to be R(?)M ?0?. Does anyone know what this filter model is? Any information would be...

WTB: Boot shock tower elephant skins for '74

Repro elephant skin trunk pieces Chris is correct. The new pieces are soft and pliable. The embossing (i.e. wrinkles) are not as pronounced or deep as the orginal hard shells. The fit is pretty good except that, for some odd reason, they did not provide pre-cut holes for the trunk lid support...

Red screwdriver question without the madness

Guten tag all! When I bought my coupe in June, it came with a toolkit (in pieces, of course) and an incomplete set of tools. One of those items is a small (i.e. slightly less than 6") red-handled screwdriver. The handle does NOT say Heyco, but does say "Made in W Germany" and has the letters...

    Old Slogan is New UDM

Steve- Saw your post and it made me sad. But it also got my dander up, as I think you have painted BMW with too broad a brush. Yes, they are no longer strictly a performance car company, which they undoubtedly once were. But the car business requires economies of scale to survive, and there...

    I am officially an idiot!

Hi all - Here's a cautionary tale for everyone... I was working under the dash, trying to straighten out the totally-screwed-up wiring on my recently purchased 3.0cs. At one point I needed two hands, so I flipped the halogen work light out of the way. Well, it landed on the radio volume knob...

For sale : 3.0 CSL jigsaw puzzle

Just in time for Christmas, I'm selling an 800-piece jigsaw puzzle that I acquired in the late 70's. Made in Germany of the heaviest (read: over-engineered in typical Teutonic fashion) cardboard you've ever seen. All pieces accounted for. Motorsport striping around all sides of the box. Make...

    WTB - overriders

I have a '73 3.0CS with the really dorky overriders that unfortunately came on U.S.-spec cars for that one year. Would like to buy a set from an earlier/Euro small bumper car to provide a sleeker look to the front end. If anyone has a set in reasonable shape, please send me a message. Thanks.

    Radio Antenna questions

Gruppe - I've noticed that, across cars, the radio antenna is variously located on the front or rear fender, and on the left or the right. Could it be that the radios/antennas were dealer-installed rather than factory-installed (as with the '02s of the period)? More importantly, I need an...
