paper with 4 digits behind a rear seat

I know this subject pops up regularly, but has anybody found out what it actually refers to? Yesterday I found a yellowish paper with 4 printed figures behind the rear right seat of my Golf CSL. I have had it for 7 years but it has been with a friend´s workshop for the last 6 years, so I...

    Oem headliner

BMW sells the headliner I have bought and installed new headliners in several cars, both with and without sunroof. Works very well and looks very original. The problem is the sunshades, which will then look very dirty in comparison. I had mine painted, which is ok, but the level of shine is a...

    Information from BMW in Munich

I cannot find the e-mail address in my computer. It used to be info@konzernarkiv something or other or directly to Andreas Harz, but this was a few years ago. Anyone got the current one?

    Drive shafts. Useful info perhaps

I have had a slight imbalance at around 80Km/h, so I changed the right drive shaft about a year ago. Didn´t make much difference. Then found another one in Germany, overhauled with a BMW sticker on it. Took the left one out and found that, while the same lenght, the diameter was about 10mm...

    Discs and pads W n N

Not necessary I use the stock ventilated discs (CSi) and they are fine. The best pads are of course the old asbestos ones, of which I still have several sets in stock. Among the others available today, I don´t really know. Some are harder than others. I don´t use my brakes that much as i keep a...

    LSD - how common?

I have LSD on all my cars Strange that it was an option, and not a very popular or common one for that matter. A car of this standard really should have had it from the factory, and probably included in the outrageously expensive price of the car. In 1973 it was more expensive than a V12 Jaguar...

    ignition key light socket

I just removed mine I drove one of my many Coupes from Stockholm to Southern Switzerland where I arrived this afternoon. A neat little trip of 1,250 miles. The first evening was all in the dark and that silly light annoyed me as it lit the ashtray on the passenger door, so I simply removed the...

    Radiator removal

Can this be done with the bonnet/hood in place ??? When I look at it, it seems hard to see how it can be exchanged with the bonnet open but in place. My thin one is damaged and I want to install the slightly thicker one, for cars with AC as W&N defines it. Thanks, Peder

    Color question (not BMW)

Besides my BMWs, I have Jaguars from the 50s and 60s, and one of them is painted in a very nice reddish maroon with a Dupont code: F04 37K. I am trying to paint another Jaguar in this colour, but the paint shop in Germany cannot make out what colour this is and how to blend the base colours to...
