This car was discussed on 9/21/09. I saw & drove this car. Car looked very clean to me. Did not like the black color, wheels, chrome fender trim, & small steering wheel. Take a look at my comments from 9/21 & 9/22.
A $48+k Coupe
I've always felt the Coupe was a practical car from the standpoint of layout. Fairly roomy; backseat ok; vision very good; the vent windows & dash shelf very functional; & of course a trunk with a lot of space. So, to completely re-do a Coupe, i.e complete blasting &...
I'm a recent owner of a coupe. I'm curious about the door locks as I have not attempted to lock the doors with the key in fear of not being able to re-open. My question is: can a locked door be opened from the inside by using the interior handle? Do the small posts become flush with door when...

Driver side headrest won...at least for now
I went another round with it. This time I took a 2 x 4 & attached a vise to it. I placed the the board in a vertical position behind the seat with one jaw under the headrest bar. Proceeded to crank about 8 times slowly until I heard a pop...
I goofed on a detail in my previous message. I did in fact use a 2 x4 with the seat in situ. As there is almost no space between the top of the seat & the bottom of the headrest, I have to be careful of leaving an impression from one of the boards I'm using. I have already slightly separated the...
Went another round on the driver's side head rest. Even had help from a neighbor, banging & pulling it at all angles. I think PB has met its match. The sheepskin seat cover has an opening at the top with velcro underneath. Last resort will be to slide it over & make 2 slits & then secure with...
Stuck Headrests
Well, after a lot of banging, & with the help of PB Blaster, I got the passenger headrest out. Had to give up a chromed plastic piece on the underside. There was not much rust on the inner rod. Driver side remains embedded.
2000cs fans
For those who are into original 2000cs models & provenance, I know of a used car dealer in the Philadelphia suburbs who claims to have the first 2000cs imported & displayed by Max Hoffman in New York back in the day. I've seen it...sitting outside for years. He is under the belief...
I am unable to remove the headrests. This I discovered after buying sheepskins. I get some movement with the inner posts, but only get a tiny amount of movement on the door side posts. Didn't see anything in the archives. Have sprayed a lot of WD40 & have banged it with a rubber mallet, but no...
A silver csi has been for sale at Munich Evolution for over a year with subsequent price drops. Sure looks good in the pictures for the price. Not looking to buy, just curious as to why it just sits with no action. Has anyone looked at it?
I don't know when the owner first put the car up for sale. I had been perusing various sites for an e9 for 2 years & never saw it posted. I only learned about it in July '09. Even tho it's been modified a bit, I think it's worth at least in the low $20s. But, to be sure, I would have it checked...
This past summer I narrowed my choices to 4 e9s. This was one of them. A neighbor (& fellow e9 owner) of mine had seen it at a show & recommended that I should see it. I don't think these cars look good in black, but since it was a 30 min ride, I decided to take a look. With those wheels &...
Have looked at a well maintained coupe with over 130k miles for possible first time purchase. How much is high mileage a negative & how should it effect price?
This car has been for sale since last summer & the asking price has not changed, even after the stock market crash. Recently he listed it on one site at $39k & then on Ebay, where of course, it did not sell.
