RAL 7043 Air Cleaner Housing Paint

Ha. It's just one of those things that you have to do since you already got the paint for it and it's staring you in the face.

RAL 7043 Air Cleaner Housing Paint

Some things I wanted to finish on the E3 before selling. Painting the air cleaner housing and thought I'd share. I used Northstar single stage RAL 7043. Looks pretty darn close to original.

    Clutch Master Cylinder Issue

Installed and working good, although the bleeding didn't go as expected. I haven't had issues with clutch masters in the past since they're so simple, but this one fought me a bit. Nice to get the car out on the road. Dan

Not the same, unless they changed the center caps

Anyone buy a coupe in CA?

@Mike Goble saw this in the central valley. Exactly like mine so I had to make sure mine was still in my garage.

    Towing question

I don't see a photo, but based on your description I wouldn't pull the car towards the pile of debris. I'm with Rick on this one.

Anyone tried an electric AC compressor yet?

How about an RV AC system mounted on the roof. Simple and you'd be the only one!

    1970 E3 2800 BaT

I just bought a '79 Mercedes 280GE, converted to a 3.0L diesel years ago, and it has a salvage title. It's worth less because of it and I look at it differently as far as how I restore it. I've decided originality doesn't matter (engine swapped already anyway) and I'll change the color when I...

    Clutch Master Cylinder Issue

Just went to Auto Zone here in CA and synthetic is all they had. I'm sure that's what I've used before. I "honed" the cylinder with fine 3M scratch pad with lacquer thinner then brake fluid to clean off anything that might have built up. I don't know how old this "new" cylinder is. Put...

    Clutch Master Cylinder Issue

Got any ideas? I've never had hydraulics do this in all the years I've been acting like a mechanic.

    Clutch Master Cylinder Issue

Could be. Maybe I used non synthetic in the past and didn't pay attention. I'll try that since I have no other ideas.

    Clutch Master Cylinder Issue

Installed a new Ate E12 clutch master cylinder and the rear seal stuck compressed while bleeding the system. I took it apart and had to use compressed air to get it out. The seal looked bigger than the front seal. I took the rear seal out of the old cylinder and put it in the new one and it...

    Electrical Issue

If it were me... I'd back all the way up to how the cooling system is working first. My E3 was running a little warm on hot days so I thought I'd add an electric pusher fan in addition to the water pump fan. But I also found my original radiator was in poor shape so I replaced it with a new...

    Still running rough

I bought a welding cart a while back and it didn't come with assembly instructions. I found a video on YouTube but it was so bad I decided to make my own video showing how it goes together, but I decided not to post it because if you can't figure out how to put a cart together you probably...

Don, have you ever used propane to find vacuum leaks? My friend uses a propane tank and holds it near components and can also connect a hose to it to get into smaller areas. Works pretty good the times I've seen it in action.

The touring with 135k? It's been awhile but Schatz and Krum or Valley Motor Works might work.
