    Electrical Detective Work

My first step would be to verify that the right rear light assembly is well-grounded. Does the right turn signal also quit when the headlights are turned on?

What camera? It's hard to drive hard in Europe....

The frequency and amount of tolls collected on European highways deserves discussion here as well. I remember growing up in the Northeast (US) 1960's and 1970's, when you had to stop and pay a dime or a quarter every few miles when driving on a highway. I encountered freeways when I moved to...

How to route a hose that carries nothing?

Yes, because the signal moves at the speed of sound at whatever pressure is in the line (which, as Mike points out, ain't zero). And at the speed of sound, the distributor is going to get the message pretty quick, regardless of whether the tube is as short as possible, or somewhat longer. So...

    Intermittent Ignition switch

Darn! That missing grub screw sure seemed like a good suspect.

    Intermittent Ignition switch

I would assume that nothing is holding the ignition cylinder in place and that's your issue. When you turn the key, the whole ignition cylinder is turning, instead of just the barrel inside the cylinder.

    Tripple Webber Setup Questions

As Stevehose wrote, adding a regulator to the circuit can be a good idea, especially with a pump that is rated at 4-8psi (like CharlesJ's), since Webers want more like 3-5 psi. I have also heard that regulators can serve to damp out the pressure pulses from the pump (which can be more...

Why Mercedes-Benz's Newest Division Is Going All-In on Classic Cars

Probably right. It seems that Mercedes Benz Heritage is about parts for 300SL's and pre-war cars; not 21st Century stuff.

Why Mercedes-Benz's Newest Division Is Going All-In on Classic Cars

Mercedes has operated a "Classic Center" here in southern California for some time. It is located in Long Beach, adjacent to the airport. I was surprised that this center (or centers, if there are others) wasn't mentioned as part of the new Mercedes Benz Heritage division in the the Motor...

    2800 CS from Rotors

I just had my 2800 at our local, vintage BMW shop for some brake work (Eurotech in Mission Viejo). Tim, the proprietor there, was able to turn my disks, so no replacements were needed. But I asked him if he could have sourced new disks if mine had been too thin to turn. He replied "oh yes...

E3's for Sale in the USA (edited title 20250917)

Oh dear: The low-quality paint job worries me less than the likelihood of low-quality bodywork underneath that paint. But n the plus side, the interior looks OK and someone put some $ into the EFI engine and 5-speed.

READ THIS. Post suspect email addresses on this thread...

As a volunteer admin for another automotive discussion forum, I can tell you that not allowing guests to post wouldn't help with this problem. Anyone can join a forum with a few simple steps, and scammers are willing to expend that much effort. It is worthwhile booting off people who post...

LAN speaker invasion into the dash impossible hole

The Harmon box you photographed says "Nominal impedance: 3.0 ohms", so wouldn't connecting two speakers in series give 6 ohms? And if that's what you are doing, where did you mount the second speaker?

    Need 4-way Flasher Relay

Well, that's the "belt and suspenders" solution. Replacing both should address whatever symptoms you have, though I have to admit that I never fully understood your symptoms: So I think you're saying that when all four bulbs are in the circuit (e.g., emergency flasher mode) everything works...

    Vasek Polak License Plate

Other ebay sellers are offering Vasek Polak plate surrounds for much less, though I wonder if they are reproductions. This guy is offering them for $80, claims to have 31 available and to have sold 125 already. Either he's Vasek's long lost nephew, or they're being knocked out in 天都城...
