Thanks for your input!
I learn something every day and changing carburettors is a too big project for me.
Are there any other airboxes (other look/appearance) that will fit easily without such a large rebuild effort? I haven't seen any so far...
Hi!
First, I have little knowledge about carburettors so please excuse me if the question is dumb.
Now the question: can the Alpina style airbox be fitted with the Zenit carburettors? If not, which type fits?
I know that the Alpina airbox is very rare and expensive but I really think the...
Background: I want to change my CS interior to "CSL style" with Scheel bucket seats etc. After searching for a long time I now have a Scheel 100 (first picture) and a 101 (second picture) in great original condition. I thought that the 101 type was identical to 100 except for the backrest...
I spoke to Sue at FDTS but they can't provide the loop hooks anymore. What they have are old stock loops and belt tongues. The belt itself would be a new one with modern retractor.
I'll check with Quickfit Safety Belts too.
Mark, I had a look at one of your pictures and compared it with one...
FYI, Scheel-mann makes copies of the old Scheel 400, now called Retro 400.
I don't know how good or true to the original they are. Maybe worth a shot.

If you go for the old Scheel 100/101 bucket seats you also need the tilt consoles to access the rear...
Thank you Mark for providing a the answer to my OP! Much appreciated.
You don't happen to know if the hook part that attaches to the trim above the wood is available and where to source it?
Thanks for the "behind the curtain" pictures Adkfrank. But the thing with my OP picture (and some of the others) is that the hook is above the wood and the belt continues from there downwards, not back. It's still strange because I can't find anything close to it in online parts catalog.
And...
Hi there!
I happened to stumble upon a front seatbelt picture when I was actually surfing something else.
I have never seen such "hook" for hanging the front belt on. Is it BMW original?
Since mine is attached to the ceiling I'd like to move it down, for a cleaner look :) Any downsides to that...
Just a question: when you're talking about the "blue books" is that the printed version of the repair manual at e9- driven.com (see link)?
http://e9-driven.com/Public/Library/BMW-E9-Manual/pages/en/index.html
If you mean the "Autobooks E3/E9 Owners Workshop Manual" under the Technical Information page that one is available as a complete pdf here:

Hi!
I took my CS for a long drive and got stuck in traffic, like slowly going forward in queues for 30-40 minutes at a time. After some while in the queues the brake and clutch pedals got stuck when pressed. The only way to bring them back was to flip my toe underneath the pedal.
The strange...
@mulberryworks: yes, you are right. It seems that's the AC.
The photo was nicked from an auction by Sotheby's. I thought that to be innocent enough.
Here's the link to the auction results and pictures http://www.rmsothebys.com/az16/arizona/lots/1973-bmw-30-csl/1078400
Hi all!
I need your help with some dimensions of the rear seat of the CSL Scheel type cloth.
Background: I want to change my interior to a more "CSL-ish" type. I've managed to get hold of the front bucket seats in good shape and the plan is to let an upholsterer try to replicate the rear seat...
Thanks for the input. If it doesn't work, at least it smells from coffee :)
But what about an ozone generator? I see them at Amazon for 40-50$. Has anyone had success with them? According to the reviews at Amazon they work, but according to EPA...
Hi all!
I have an old Scheel seat that is a little bit dirty but mostly it stinks from cigarette smoke.
Is it wise to steam clean it to freshen it up? I mean, that 40 year old sponge and cloth may get ruined.
Thanks for your input!
Have a look at

It makes me smile every time, but then I realize I missed the "csl-train" and it's maybe not so fun anymore.
Video is in amazing 7 fps, now I warned you :)
@twistinglane. I just took a look at the webpage's source code (CTRL+U in Internet Explorer) and searched for jpg. Sometimes it works to do it like that unless the creator has tried to hide or obfuscate the code :)
