    LSD - how common?

Hi all! Had the car ('73 U.S.-spec CS) on a lift the other day to touch up some bare spots on the undercoating. Spun one rear wheel and, much to my surprise, the other rear wheel spun in the same direction. How un/common is a LSD on an E9? Should I be smiling gently or laughing out loud...

Dead Men Walking Went to see the cars this morning. Arrived at 10:30 because seller said he is open from 10-6 (confirmed by sign on the door). Door locked. Lights off. But all his cars were sitting in a field in front of the building, so Steve O'Neil and I wandered over to the recipient car of...

Spoke with the dealer (who claims it was going to be his "personal car" with parts transferred from a 3.0 CS automatic). Says the engine doesn't run but he "thinks" it turns over. Original 4-speed. Claims body is "rust free" (red alert! red alert!). Going to see it as soon as the weather...

    Window felt installation questions

Hi all! Apologies in advance for this long-winded post. Bought a length of the woven "felt" channel into which the forward edge of the front windows slide. BMW sent me a 44" length, which I assume is sufficient for both front windows. But from the top of the door to the top of the frame it is...

Thinking about buying a 2002 Turbo

Couple of small details from the photos. 1. That is not an original turbo steering wheel. 2. The trunk panels in my turbo (#4291240) and many others I have seen were painted plywood, and were not covered in "elephant hide" vinyl as shown in those pics. Again I would question the originality...

Thinking about buying a 2002 Turbo

Just be aware that there are no RHD turbos for those of you from the British Commonwealth. The KKK turbocharger is located where the steering shaft would otherwise go on a RHD car. Hope this does not rain on your parade.

    FS: turn signal lens

Somehow I have managed to accumulate a bunch on E9 turn signal lens. Garage is starting to look like my wife's shoe closet: multiple pairs of pretty much the same things... So anyone one need a pair of amber lens? I have both U.S. and Euro spec "in stock." PM me if interested.
