    Wiring harness strategies.

Ha ha. Looking at their website, all their car-specific harnesses are for 'mericun cars. Click on "MAKE" on this site and you'll see what I mean...

    Glasurit 55 Polaris paint coad

OK, so I think you're saying that Polaris Neu 060 would be the correct color for Wobdog's '71 e9. And that Polaris 060 is newer than Polaris Neu 060 (which is kind of funny), as well as more silver/less grey. You are certainly right that the water-based paints available today will never match...

    Glasurit 55 Polaris paint coad

I think the right answer is going to be "New Polaris Met 60 For years 66-90", but am looking forward to confirmation from those more knowledgeable.

Seeking advice on Brakes and tires

OK, OK, I've edited my post to be more specific. I wasn't suggesting that a wheel might be so corroded that it would fall apart; just that tubeless tires will leak when the bead contact area on a steel wheel gets pitted from corrosion. The alloy wheels on our e9's don't have this issue...

Seeking advice on Brakes and tires

What site are you looking at? Longstone? The Longstone site says: RECOMMENDED TUBES Michelin 14F13 TUBE OR TUBELESS TL (Tubeless) which I interpret as "If the tire-wheel contact area of the rim is really pitted due to corrosion and you need a tube in order for it to hold air, then use...

E3's for Sale in the USA (edited title 20250917)

"Garage kept"???? Maybe over the past few months, but the sun-faded RR reflector, rusted wheels and water stained paint suggest time spent outdoors. Still, at $5K, it is priced to sell.

    "Washing your e9"

I wouldn't call using a pressure washer on a classic car "normal". If you drive through a lot of mud puddles, then a light spritz with a hose may be necessary, but with the way most classic cars get used, the procedures Stevehose discusses in post #3 are more typical.

    Zenith Carbs Massive Flooding

You have gotten good advice in this thread. It's is probably one of two things: a stuck float/valve or a bad fuel line (split line or leaking connection) , but more investigation will be needed at your end to pinpoint the source of the leak; people who have never laid hands on your car can't...

    E3 SI on Ebay

Why would anyone put a luggage rack on a Bavaria? Their trunks are HUGE. How many bodies did they need to carry?

Becker Europa II Install on 3.0cs

The Becker Europa radio on ebay that Boonies shows in post #4 is referred to as a "Europa II" in the auction title, but the radio in the picture is simply labeled "Europa". I'm not authority on vintage Becker radios, but I'm skeptical that it's a "II". Its face size is small, so it would fit...

Vintage Wilton vise and Atlas drill press resto

You guys are making me feel guilty about selling a couple of my father's old tools on Craigslist earlier this year. I had his old Chas Parker vise and a 1960's era Craftsman drillpress. I have duplicates of both, wanted to reduce the clutter in my garage, so out they went. I was surprised at...

Good motorsports/car museums near San Jose?

If you have not yet seen the Mullin, then I would highly recommend it. With Peter Mullin's recent death, the long-term prospects for this gem of a museum are uncertain (at least to the general public). The museum also includes furniture and other works of art done by Bugatti family members.

    E28 window motor observation.

OK, thanks! I have replaced my front pancake motors with e28 motor/gearboxs and can report that they work great.

    E28 window motor observation.

And how different are the front gearboxes? Do they still have the 10-tooth pinions? Is it just the mounting bolt pattern that differs? In other words, when the world's supply of e28 rear gearboxes runs out, can the fronts be adapted?
  17. jmackro

    E28 window motor observation.

So I think you are saying that the front and rear E28 motors are the same, but the F & R gearboxes are different. Did I get that right? And, it's the rear gearboxes that are compatible with E9 window mechanisms.

Excellent Tesla Cybertruck review - Jason Cammisa

Yea, but your carbon footprint isn't issue. What matters is the world-wide carbon footprint. The Saudi's, Russians, Chevron, etc. are not going to pump less oil after 2030 (or whenever), when people in my home state will only be able to buy electric vehicles. The price of crude oil may go...
