How tight should the speedo cable 13 mm bolt at the back of the transmission be?

The one on my 635csi does not have a hole. Haven't climbed under my coupe to see if that one has a hole, but I know I did not put safety wire on it when I installed it.

How tight should the speedo cable 13 mm bolt at the back of the transmission be?

...is that the bolt fits into a groove and only needs to be tight enough to keep the cable from coming out. I just looked at this on my 635csi barn find. Your leak is coming either from the o ring for the speedo drive, or the shaft seal inside the speedo drive unit. Replace the o-ring...

A 97 635csi should be worth some good money.

This is maddening @aearch. There are four different motors used in 635csi. If your friend has a $600 car for you, I can only presume it is a US M30B34. This is the least desirable of the four, and the one motor that everyone advised not to get. You can get a running B35 for $1,500 or less. If...

    Insane Online Wheel Museum

Nice...looks like a lot of JDM wheels, which is cool. I used to own a little Toyota Corolla "peanut." Fun little car to take auto-crossing. If you didn't know they were wheels, some of them look like they could be fly fishing reels. Some don't even look like wheels if you didn't know you were...

    Insane Online Wheel Museum

...in this obscure corner of the internet. I discovered it while reading about the E24 "Observer" coupe (https://drives.today/articles/1293/history/concept/1982-bmw-observer-coup-unique-glass-roofed-635csi-e24.html) and wanted to know what style wheels are those. It's all just so zany. I love it.

Greetings TomHom and welcome to the forum. I've been into my e9 for almost ten years now, and recently acquired a 1979 635csi (which sat idle for ten years and needs a ton of work).

Metric Mechanics Rally engine vs Numbers matching rebuild

...as Rob noted, there are a number of coupe owners who have gone to the stock M30b35 engine. Specifically, the engine from a 87-92 735 or 88-89 635CSi, 87-92 e34, all using Motronic 1.3. This not as sexy as some of the alternatives you are considering, but it is a straight forward swap, any...

As to your injector seal question, I am attempting to resurrect a Euro 635csi that had been sitting for a decade and I replaced all of those seals on all of the injectors (as well as the hoses to the injectors.) Seals were cheap on Rock Auto - Beck/Arnley 1580021. Kit contains 4 seals for...

Hi all. I've had an email using this old advert title from a person going by the name of Goodwill fred offering me a complete mint LSD from a 635csi e24 for 230 dollars. For me, this is a bit random, plus they have included a pic of said diff. Has anyone seen had the same email?
