...to reach with a screwdriver. Now for the stuff that requires drilling from the factory. Removing the rivets that hold the door jam trim and welts in place. These plates were removed and installed at least one or two times prior on this car. Why they didn't reuse the same holes is beyond me...

Inner trim around doors - need photo's

Terrible pics, but here they are. It looks like the body welts are about 1.25" wide. I would take a .25" rubber tube, lay it in the center of a 2.5" - 3" vinyl strip. Fold in half and run it through a sewing machine. Front: Rear: The door welts are different. I have some pics already...

Inner trim around doors - need photo's

Here is what I know based on both of my cars. The welts on the doors are held on by tiny screws and glue. I've removed the door welts and tiny screws on the parts car. I have some pics of said tiny screws in my part out thread. The welts on the body are held on by the aluminum trim both leading...

Inner trim around doors - need photo's

my coupe didn't have the welts or the trims riveted in. the welts were put on with adhesive and the trims were set with the screws that held the kick panels in place. of course this could have been changed by a PO

Inner trim around doors - need photo's

If you want I can snap a pic of the aluminum trim and the welts installed on the body, with no door panels in place. They are riveted on and I still need to drill them out. I also need to dig through my parts bin to find my coolant tank. Sooo - if you want a closeup pic of the welts themselves I...

Thanks for this. I have all the bits, its how they fit together that I cannot work out. How do the welts cards and metal pieces look - is it welt metal then card or metal welt then card? Just a simple photo will help me a lot. Thanks in advance.

    Installation Bilstein shock absorbers

...seem that it's easy enough to make door replacement press-board panels and use something a little more substantial until you try to attach the welts and then fit in the wood and then try to close the door flush only to find that there is undue stress on the door latch and the door shuts tight...

...would be interested in the chrome / polished aluminum interior trim pieces that go under the front kick panels and the ones that go under the rear side panels. if you have any of the welts that go under these trims or under the door panels, i'd be interested in those as well. thanks scott...

Scott, I can lend you door welts to replicate if needed. You could have them for a couple of months.

interior welts around door + side panels

I always thought it was attached to the door card but seeing the screw and placement in your picture makes sense. I think the welts really add to the quietness of the interior, my blue coupe is without them and the polaris coupe has them. There is a noticeable difference in the way the door...

interior welts around door + side panels

Scott, Thanks for the update. You were first in line for any spare welts that aI have. I confirmed that the door welts on my target coupe are trashed. I should have spare kick panel welts. The door welts are held on by tiny black screws and adhesive. I took a pic in my deconstruction thread.

didn't realize that the welts were at the bottom of the door as well ... thought they were just at the ends.

interior welts around door + side panels

"Welts"; any pics of them? HI, with my lack of English as first language, the "welts" had me puzzled. Thought it was German at first so I was puzzled at first. But if I understand in correctly, they are stips of leather or vinyl, folded and sewn over to make a tube, perhaps filled...

...Other screws that won't budge, the flag mirror, and the door handle. I'll need to drill them all out. This is worth a pic. When removing the welts around the perimeter of the door, watch out for the tiny screws holding them in place. If you have a dark interior, they are difficult to spot...
