...proud of what you accomplished, Frederick. It is so good to see an E3 taken to this high level. They are milestone BMWs. It deserved your hard work and attention to detail. It is easy to overdo the wheels, tires and stance, but you nailed it. Subtle elegance...period correct...

Ride height/stance actual measurements with photos with different springs and shocks

...measurement because Paul told me that these springs were originally designed for the lighter CSL. This may account for the slightly low stance in the rear that @HB Chris had noticed. My car, being a US '74, has several additional structural reinforcement pieces which add weight and most...

...was supposedly swapped for a 3.5 liter but not fuel injected. Tranny is claimed to be a five speed. Rear end sits high for some reason. Front stance OK. Did not start or drive it (Yet). As this is a local car to me it is appealing but at the current $107,000 + price point with more work to...

...that. I wonder if it's Italian? The 3.0S has Italian 2-color turn signals too? I think I've seen these for sale on eBay. Finally (for now), I must say.. I like the stance of both vehicles... not sure if that's original, or modified by the owners, but there's a subtle rake in the hood line...

The spacers are still in place under the strut towers. They were on all North America E3s to meet the DOT headlight height requirement. Most of those have been removed and tossed by now to make the stance a little more appealing.

    Steering issues (1973 CS).

I am going to start with the alignment, then work through the rest of the items that you have listed. The tires are fresh Pirelli CN36, so I don’t think they are the issue. I will rotate them to see if that improves the situation. I appreciate your input here.

    Steering issues (1973 CS).

...is not that difficult. But all bets are off since you mentioned camber plates and springs that might dramatically lower the vehicle’s stance and alter the suspension geometry. That said, mis-alignment or deliberately altered alignment settings might result in a poorly tracking vehicle or...

CSL - changes during production runs <DRAFT>

...If i remember well the flashlight came later somewhere post 74? another nerdy detail: Suspension uses progressive springs - 20cm lower stance -> i hope it's 20 mm, otherwise they would be belly-on-the-ground :) FYI: Swiss delivered cars (should) always have been delivered with steel doors...

In case anyone is interested watching for the entertainment value or wanting to add to the stable...

Gorgeous Pagode! Really nice example. Best of luck with the sale. Lowering springs give it a perfect stance and will take away the typical front end drop whilst braking!

    ASA vs. Glas 1600gt

Just my 2c - as I said I'd be happy to have any of these cars including the 1600gt.

    ASA vs. Glas 1600gt

i think they have a very similar stance - the bodies are different, but they all sit up a bit high visually and they all have skinny tires. perhaps i might be part of the minority, but i like the 1600gt. i think the interior + dash are quite nice.

    ASA vs. Glas 1600gt

To me all the short wheelbase late 1960s 2 door GTs are all the with subtle differences. More info.: https://www.glasclub.de/index.php/en/pictures There may still be a Glas 1300GT & or a Glas 1700GT Cabriolet available, contact vsr1.com

    ASA vs. Glas 1600gt

The 507 has a much nicer stance than the Glas, 190sl, Alfa Giulia spider, ISO Rivolta, 2000cs - just pulling cars from memory - they have no relationship other than having a nicer stance. It just seems that Glas was behind in that regard. Yeah maybe some of these are newer cars also - this is...

    ASA vs. Glas 1600gt

when you look at the stance of the 507, a car that was way ahead of its time ... and a gorgeous design. that being said, the stance is too high and the tires are to skinny. a function of the era, and not much changed in the 50's and 60's for most cars.

    ASA vs. Glas 1600gt

Never liked the stance of any Glas I've seen, they sit too high. The ASA is nicer looking.
