When I wash my coupe, maybe three times a year, I wash it as a normal car and sometimes I even use the power washer. It's just water :D But sure, all cavities are filled with oil/wax and so on.

If you have access to a gopro camera or similar, you could try to make a video of the driveline while accelerating. Since nothing else has worked it would be good to get a clue before continuing throwing new parts on it. Might have to make several videos, diff, driveshaft, engine + tranny.

I'm sure both systems works very well, it's just diffucult to hang a bottle over the brake fluid reservoir on some cars as the hood and hood hinge is usually right next to the reservoir cap. In the case of an e3/e9 it's not a problem as you show us. Didn't mean to go offtopic, sorry.
