These were unreliable a while ago and are now dead.
The wiring on the sender (on the gearbox) are fully fastened. The bulbs are ok.
Must be a grounding issue.... But are they not grounded along with all the other light bulbs in the rear light holders?? And they all work.
Not the fuse as the other functions on that fuse work.
Not the end of the world, but annoying.

Sometimes it's easier to just re-run them. I searched and poked for a long time and found this particular part of the conversion to be most time-consuming. My headliner was out so I ran the wire overhead and into the trunk loom.

IIRC, there is an opaque connector (plug/socket- about 50-60mm in length, looks also like an inline fuse holder) that's in the wiring bundles near the fuse box. It serves as a junction between the tranny reverse switch and the reverse lights. Check to see if the connector has come loose or it has developed a bad wiring contact problem.

That's the last thing for me to figure out on the conversion.Instruction are not very clear to me on which wires to connect.

Peter I would rather run a wireless access point in the car than route the reverse light overhead :). What happens under the car stays under the car.

Thank you Bert

This forum proves to be totally indispensable from time to time.
Your suggestion was "bang on".
By just fiddling a bit with that fuse like wire connector, near the fuse box, I got the reverse lights to work again.
Many thanks,
Peder
