steering wheel horn

1973 CSi Had the car out today and suddenly the horn would honk if the steering wheel was turned more than 30-45 degrees. I took off the wheel, cleaned the contacts (on the wheel and the spring-type contact). Replaced wheel and the issue is still there. Thanks
