Conflicting info from 123 Ignition themselves!

Which one and why? Who has got what (and do we have actual proof of which one is better with this setup) ??

Blue coil has a built-in ballast resistor which you don’t need. Red coil is higher output.

I am currently using the red coil. Although I don't have a lot of mileage on the setup to prove success.

OK so sounds like it's the red coil. Thanks guys.

Do I understand I need an external resistor? If so what is the spec (or even better, is there a link)?

I've run the 123 with a red coil (NOS German one but haven't heard anything bad about the new ones) for over 5 years without any issues. Works great. You do not need the ballast resistor. Mine is only used as a electrical junction box.

Hmmm dunno, I thought I removed the speed relay wires, looks like I have a weekend project to get to the bottom of it!

I do have the 123 and my fuel pump tach sensor hooked up there, a radio interference suppressor, tach wire, starter wire. I'll check, thanks for the eagle eye.

Steve, Why so many wires by your coil? Looks like you still have the black/red speed relay wires?
