Reply to me, I’ll provide his email.

These will fit an E9, but are the wrong style (too new).

Later E9’s came with turbine-style wheels that had smooth spoke sides and no kink (as the spokes approach the rim).

Price seems reasonable.

These are e12 wheels, Turbines refer to these wheels and not the 74 Alpina style fps wheels. Turbines have the ridges John highlights, a four lug version was on the 320i. I have a set for Free here in Huntington Beach.

Geeeze do I know the difference. I have a set of five in my garage and bfeng was nice enough to say " you're not gonna put those on your E9 are you? It will draw smirks from purists". Thus, under peer (peer=engineer who speaks his mind) pressure, I have found 5 true Alpina style wheels courtesy of Tom Whalen. I have turbines on my E3 and they do look awesome and since E3 people are super mellow, I have gotten no smirks......to my face at least.

Bob, that’s funny because I put E12 turbines on my last/final E3 when I lived in Santa Monica. I also never got any smirks.

My theory is the E3 isn’t cool enough for most people to pay attention . It’s like having curbed wheels on a Panamera or a pimple on Frances McDormand’s nose … nobody cares. Who remembers the movie Blood Simple?

But for your freshly restored Taiga E9, E12 wheels would be a travesty.

This is quite funny, no one seems concerned with:
3.5 litre engine
5 speed trans
16 inch wheels
But, heaven forbid:
EV conversion, or worst still
The slightly wrong 14 inch wheels and it’s a “travesty”
It seems I still have a bit to learn when it comes to what’s acceptable and what isn’t with our E9’s

Hahaha.... it seems “Turbines” don’t really get a lot of love, if they are on a 2002, e21, or any of them. Seems only the “Bottlecaps” are ranked lower on the travesty scale. I suppose they were BMW’s attempt to replicate the beautiful, finned Alpina wheels, but they just don’t meet the mark.

To each their own. I’m just trying to help a buddy sell some old wheels :)

I like these turbines a lot on early E24s.
The worst rims are actually the E24 metric ones...
