So my previous CSL had 14" Mahle wheels that had quite a bit of dish. They were allegedly the wheels that came on the car. I've recency seen a pic of another CSL with these same Mahle wheels.

Were these an option on CSLs? I remember them being quite light.

My old L and recent pic found.

They were an option. It is very easy to get the wheel incorrect also as there were numerous iterations during this time period.

Thanks Markos. Link was very interesting. I distinctly remember them not having any BBS branding and them being branded BMW Mahle with XWXs on them.

These BMW/Mahle wheels came originally on my Black CSL Bat. Even the spare. Much debate on this, but I am certain that my 1975 Bat came with these, when new. I have also seen a few old pictures of CSL's with these wheels The correct ones for the CSL's are the ones with the 9.3 off set not the 11.0 off set.I have a set I would like to sell if anyone is interested. 7/14 .9.3 off set Mahle /BMW Wheels. Please PM if there is any interest

I know for a fact that I have seen photos with the wheels discussed on Batmobiles parked at the GmbH for photo ops, etc. There was discussion earlier about the rarity of the correct wheels. The upshot was: they are marked "Mahle" and "BMW" like some others but the correct and rare wheels don't have a 1/2 inch or so 45 degree chamfer at the junction of the lip and the face of the wheel.

This is the photo that you posted, with the easter egg as well...

Basic dumb questions. What are Rials? Aftermarket wheels made to look kind of similar to these or were they original equipment on anything? To me all these are best on sportier cars than mine, but I got tempted recently buying some other parts from this seller/member.

Jay, not sure what you are looking at. The majority are 15s...

As I told a young associate, if you'd just improve your mind reading, I wouldn't have to explain things clearly. I was talking about the tires on the Rials for sale. The tires in the pictures in the Rial ad look like 215/60 R14. I don't understand how those work on a 7x15 wheels.

The wheels are 7x14", seems like the seller doesn't know what he has. If you look closely in the center you'll see the 7x14 markings :D
