Hi Chaps

Are you aware that the original Pirelli Cinturato CN36 is available again?

for yonks there was not a good tyre available in the original size 195/70VR14 until the end of 2023 when Pirelli introduced the CN36 again. great news for you guys. Lots of these cars may have found them selves fitting 205/70VR14 CN36 or 205/70VR14 XWX instead; both these tyres are available.

This is an interesting tyre test that was done where the CN36 and XWX were compared to 2 modern tyres.

Doug - I'm happy to have the tire test info (from 2016), and the technical chat about tires, but you posted the exact same "Are you aware that the original Pirelli Cinturato CN36 is available again?" thread in July of last year.

This is looking a lot like an advertising campaign.

Doug - there is no need to publish the same thread in multiple locations on this website. stick to one area and please leave it at that - otherwise, i will start deleting them.

Hi

All apologies. I'm not intending to upset any one. You are right i have posted pretty much the same post in different forums, but that is simply because i do want all your comunity to be aware of the good news, that they are now available again. If i post in one section of your forum that doesn't mean that all people who are interested in this would see it.

Similarly my post back in July would not nesecarily get spotted by someone who hasn't looked at the forum since June. there will be lots of your members like that.

It is important that i make an effort to make sure everyone is aware there is now a good 195/70VR14 tyre available, peoples involvement in their cars varies dramatically.

I want everyone whi might be interested iinterested to be aware because it is good news. But, of course you are right, at the same time i am doing it for your members, it is of course advertising, Longstone Tyres is a commercial entity. I have invested considerably in getting these tyres made again Pirelli. Pirelli don't just do it for nothing. Someone has to put their money on the floor take a gamble on a tyre like this, and invest. In this case its me. To give this tyre any future i have to flog them, or another batch will not get produiced again. To make that work i have to make sure the relavent comunities (ie you guys, Alfa Montreal, and some Mercedes) are aware they are available. i must then guestimate a volume, and then flog them all before they get too old, which is of course why i'm here.

Apologies if it upsets people. However I do think it is only ever a good thing for the E9 comunity. They now, at last, have the opportunity to buy a good tyre for their cars. No side of this is bad. It can only be good news. (, because of course you can still buy something else if you want). The forums help in informing people about these tyres will, i hope, help move the volume which will mean we maintain fresher stocks. Which i again think is good for the comunity.

Doug,

an old post is revived when something is added to it - it doesn't disappear. you have mentioned multiple times that the 195/70-14 was available again within the e9coupe and e3coupe forums. we got it and remember it.

if you look in the FAQ - top sources, you will find Longstone Tyres as a recommended vintage tire source. we like that you offer us a great product at a very reasonable price. please understand that most of us only drive our coupes a few thousand miles / year. so we don't go through tires that quickly.
