"1958 BMW 502 3.2 · Sedan · Driven 78,000 miles Looking to sell my 1958 bmw 502 3.2! This car was purchased by the previous owner in 1976 when he was 17 years old and became part of my collection when he passed away in 2021. It has been stored in a garage it’s entire life and is a very solid car, a prime candidate for a restoration. The original 3.2 litre v8 engine runs like new! (Same engine in the fabled 507 roadster) Other than that, it’ll need a full restoration. I believe this is the only 502 for sale in North America. I am asking 13,500$ or best offer.:"

OK...they are not especially good looking. It would cost much more than the car is worth to restore it. Then why am I lusting after it?

(Well, there is that give away price and the beautiful V8)

I think that this is one of those that if you got it for free it still wouldn't much impact the total you'd have into it when you were done.
I agree entirely, Dick. But as we all know, and some of us may have, ahem, personal examples, the car hobby is replete with stories of individuals just sort of obsessed with, and chasing a very specific model of car, who just have to have it. Best wait on this one until new owner has spent his savings on spare parts and such, then revisit when he wants it outta there! ;)
