Right, hands up how many of you have seen one? This group? Well I am sure there are some who are familiar with this marque. Today was the All British Field Meet in Vancouver, B.C. Some rain in the early morning "dampened" the attendance, but the die-hards still showed. Always an interesting collection of familiar as well as obscure British automobiles. Today's revelation for me was finally getting to see a 1964 Gordon Keeble for real. Designed by Guigiero, and sold from 1964 -1966, it incorporated an all fibreglass body, spaceframe chassis, American V-8, attached to this Italian 2 door Coupe body. Total production either 99 or 100, or 101. depending on who you ask. But seriously? We all appreciate Coupes, so I thought I would share these photos. Anyone here have any experience with any Gordon Keeble?

So sleek, so lovely. I would have droped an injected 283 Corvette engine but I would take it.

Yes, the turtle in the urine pond,…very British

From the wiki….The marque's badge was unusual in featuring a tortoise — a pet tortoise walked into the frame of an inaugural photo-shoot, taken in the grounds of the makers. Because of the irony (the slowness of tortoises) the animal was chosen as the emblem.

car front looks familiar to the Peugeot rear looks like a lancia or ferrari

two petrol filling caps ?

Sorry I chickened out due to the AM rain, Mike. Seeing the Gordon Keeble would have been worth getting the car wet.

I understand Dick. If I didn't have my hardtop in place, I would have had second thoughts too. On the road was not bad, but just as vehicles lined up to enter the grounds, the deluge came down. A real soaker for about 20 minutes, tapered, quit, and then the sun. I think this helped keep the "casual" observers away, and it was easier to move around and mingle.

Magnificent! Thought I'd seen one in Britain five years ago but running through the pictures it turned out to be a Gilbern. Nearly as rare but otherwise very different.

Are there any nice classic car events this coming weekend? My partner and I are going to be there for a bit.

Hey Otter, not sure if you are saying that you will be in Vancouver May 24-26, but if that is what u mean, I really do not know of any significant car show/activity on these dates. I am sure you will have a great time anyway. Enjoy! ;)

Being a proud Limey, I have to admit seeing these often at car shows back home in the 80s and 90s.

Always interested me in the similar way the Jensen Interceptor did, but always felt the Interceptor was a better all around package.

Scratched the Jensen itch a few years ago, with this white last of breed convertible - the itch for a Gordon Keeble left without medication or further scratching :)

Pete, that's quite an itch There is Vancouver Cars and Coffee at Spanish Banks but not sure when they are starting up They run from 8 to 11 and usually a ton of cars everything goes There are maybe some small local shows around nothing BMW specific

Thanks, Rick
