1969 bmw 2002

Magilla Manila

You know how your first love leaves scar tissue?...My first car in high school in 73 was a used 69 Manila/Black with iffy 2nd gear synchros...and chalky bmw paint...I did love that car; like the song says, "the face that launched a thousand ships..."

but is $24,990 realistic?

Yes it is. The problem that we have, and by we I mean people like us that have a memory of what a 2002 would fetch 15 years ago, is that the prices have changed dramatically yet our mindset hasn't. I would bet that you, as with many of us, said the same thing the first time you saw a coupe listed for $50,000.00. The market is changing and our memories aren't.

My memory is changing - it's getting worse!

The only thing it needs to be concours is a new paint job.

I went on the Haggerty valuation site and plugged in "1969 2002". They show a current value of $32.9K for cars in #1 condition, $21.1 for #2's, and #11K for #3's. So OK, if you picked up this car for $24.9, put $8K into paint, you should still be above water.
