Is this car really worth the asking price? Not that I'm interested it just seems wildly optimistic considering the condition and paint....
I'd agree...
...applied a preservation coat of paint (Now we don't know what was covered up, plus this cheap paint job needs to be removed to do it right)
...I also repaired the majority of the rusted area's (The majority? How rusty was/is this car? Have the Minnesota winters taken their toll?)
...I upholsterer the seat's (Not a very good job. Needs to be redone)
...The engine and transmission are largely untouched (Is this good or bad news?)
...I have installed a 4 channel stereo system, complete with 400w amp and crossover's, all mounted in the boot. (At least now we know where the money went}
If this car was for sale by the original owner, before the cheap paint job and the bad upholstery job, and before the 400w booming stereo, and if it was not as rusty as it sounds, it could have been a great starting point for a restoration. Now you'd be paying for a lot of work that needs to be redone. I hope this one sells for $15k to "float all boats" but I think it will be tough getting that kind of money for it.
