I'm considering offering my 1969 2800CS for sale, but it's been nearly 10 years since I was familiar with the values of these cars.

Can you guys submit your best "ball park" for the brief description below? I'd certainly appreciate it.

Overview: I am the 3rd owner, and the car has around 33,000 km's on the restoration which was done in Belgium, and completed in 1985 at a cost of $13k. The engine was restored, and removed from a 1974 3.0CS I believe, same with the re-conditioned Zenith carbs. Chrome is in fabulous shape (and replaced when it was still available from the factory), everything works (windows, defrost, cigarette lighter, even the seat-belt buzzer etc...), the car looks great too. There is some cracking of the 25 year old paint, and a few minor nicks, a scratch or two, and two rust bubbles that have looked the exact same in the 9 years I've owned it. Every year I give the undercarriage a good once-over, but since it's been garage kept it's entire life, I just never find any "new" rust. I would say aesthetically, the car is a fabulous example, but not a concours type thing.

Mechanically, it needs the front wheel-well Volvo arch installation, a tune-up, and that's pretty much it. I just had the brakes adjusted, and a new guibo put in, and the fan, battery and alternator are all new. I'd say it needs new tires too. (Some 70's Porsche nut at a car-show proclaimed to me that they are rare Michelin's that aren't being made anymore and originally came on the early 911's. And offered to buy them for $250/tire ...I refused. Whatever. The tread is just fine, but there is some dry rot happening.)

Images: Here are a few pics, taken right after I rinsed it off with the hose. (However, the car has only been fully detailed three times in the past 9 years, I normally just use a California duster before driving. The photos were right before heading to a car-show). The car has only been wet 5 times total since Y2K:

...of course, if I were to sell it, I'd create an entire online gallery, and provide would-be buyers plenty of detailed photos. But I'm just trying to gauge it's value at this point in time.

The car is mostly stock, however, it has an Izumi wood/steel steering wheel, I believe a larger than stock radiator (off an 80's 5-series I believe), and the shifter knob is old, but after-market, same with the AM/FM radio.

Thanks so much,

John

I say 14-16k.
Don't pay too much attention to my guess, I just hope you get 10 additional opinions and
form an idea from the aggregate/
