1970 2800CS on eBay

Do you mean in the trunk? No, it is not.

I actually meant just what I said - is that the stock battery tray in the engine compartment. The reason I asked is is that it doesn't make much sense to move the battery to the rear then leave the stock battery tray in the front. If the engine compartment on an E9 is similar to the engine compartment on an E3, the battery tray impedes access to the alternator and the power steering pump. I removed the stock battery tray for these reasons.

70 2800 cs on ebay

the seller pulled the auction - i was the only bidder so far ... and it still had several days left

i am bummed

i have no idea - he hasn't even had the courtesy to respond to polite questions ...

Disappointed

Ok, I'm one of those who believe one man's trash is another man's treasure meaning they all have value to someone. Maybe not you're taste, but maybe someone else's.

To list with a min. start, get a bid, retract, and relist because that minimum bid isn't to your liking after the fact is just wrong. Testing the waters doesn't count. Let's see, I go place a bid, CAN I SAY The Same thing?

RS- be patient. Sex with the right one calls for some tact. I'd rather see a car go to someone who cares about it than Joe Schmoe, looking for a get rich quick scheme.

I've seen the listing. Looks nice. But, not all is right in the land of OZ.

Snazzy air cleaners- what happened? Didn't know about that booster over there? Hmmm. I guess we need a new post.. Beware of the big Booster when changing induction?.... every car needs something no matter which one.

The owner didn't post here. Maybe he felt it wasn't worth a roast or how well done it could get here. Since the listing has all kinds of reference to Ireland, Coupeking, yadayada.... someone here knows the car and hasn't chimed in. Sure there are a few of us who have friends that lust after these cars, but that's never stopped us before from being honest about a particular car.

I say call it like it is or be darn careful what you say.

What say you'all?:)

actually, the only change to the bid was that originally there was no reserve ... and now there is. I am still interested.

if there is anybody that knows the car, or nearby that can see the car ... i would love to know what they think. from the photos, the color doesn't look to be atlantik and the interior doesn't look to be the right color ... but i know that photos and lighting alter things greatly.

the seats were not recovered perfectly. the a/c was removed (problematic for me since i live in atlanta). i would like to know more about the body restoration process ... other than new paint. i have been told that there was minimal rust on the car.

car looks nice w/ some nice mods ... but this ain't the ceylon gold car that was on ebay last fall.

cheers
scott

I think this one was well executed and it has more into it than the high price it will fetch.
The front lower spoiler paint looks "orange peeled" in the photo, so that is little strange to me.

reserve

reserve is set at 30K owner said he wants 35K. Any thoughts? My only concern is the car is in snow. Snow and then rust comes to mind.

there were several things not done in the prep process. the car was not stripped to bare metal - the old paint was painted over. the interior insulation was not completely removed to completely check for rust.

the rear swing arms were replaced w/ vented rear brakes - the fronts are still solid rotors. the front suspension and tranny have not been rebuilt / restored.

the car is painted with Porsche Midnight Blue -
Does he have more in the car than he will get out - certainly.
