This car raises many questions... Nowhere can I find Taiga listed as available in 1971 (and the VIN is consistent with a U.S.-market 2500 Automatic, production of which ceased in 7/70), but if that's not the original color, the switch was done pretty thoroughly - note the door jambs, engine bay, etc. Lots of later Bavaria/3.0S trim, including grilles and wheels... Can the mileage possibly be that low? (My Corvair had 11k and change when I bought it in 2003, so I guess it's possible, but it was a lot more original than this car seems to be.)
$7,750 still strikes me as a bit high for an E3, especially one potentially so mongrelized, but how many decent (as far as we can tell from a CL ad, anyway) 2500s are even left? And that color sure is fun....
