Found this on Ebay. Looks very solid but is it a 26k car though?

Given that there are mechanical issues, wood issues and ultimately paint to redo before eventually the seats too, is it then just easier to spend 40k and be done with it?

That all said, it is a very nice survivor example aside having been resprayed once in its life which is not unreasonable for a 44 year old car!

If the paint and body is decent, can just fix the interior and put in a 3.5L and paint the engine compartment while the motor is out and 5-speed swap.

But ya, better in the long run to get Peter's 2800 all done for $50k.

The old axiom remains valid, buy the best one you can afford.
If you have the money buy the white one in Nevada. Was loved and kept up

Every time I see coupes for sale I always compare it to my car and wonder if I have enough insurance. :D

More I look at this car, the more I think it's worth every penny.

Rust free, great interior...just needs a 3.5L and 5-speed!

I have the same thoughts. But then I go back to mine and think that if this car has any rust below the surface (and it likely will), then there is still a whole lot of body work to do no matter what. I think I am going to drive mine for a while and keep an eye on cars like this one. From my perspective it needs an overhaul of the timber and I would still do running gear and wheels but I would likely get there sooner because this is a pretty good base.
