Here is a great project car. It is a european delivery. Has been garaged for a long time. I intended to restore

this car myself but I have to facxe the reality that I am just not going to get around to it. The car had one

tough winter long ago but has been sheltered since. I will try to provide al the pictures that you may need. It

would be best if the car can be restored by someone but it might be sold for parts as the sum of it's parts could

be worth more than the car intact. I listed it once on craigslist about a year ago and learned what details buyers

look for. I am not a skiled marketing person, just a guy who dreamed of restoring a car but must now let it go.

I have some of the records for this car. I bought it in 2007 from the BMWCCA member who imported it. He took the

best care of the car that he could, except for one winter when a friend stored the car for him. It has a clean

title and is currently registered in California to me.

The previous owner was in the process of selling the car but on a test drive a valve keeper failed. The engine

still ran (2 blocks to home) with some rattling noise. I have a pictrure of the valve stem.

There are additional pictures of the interior, cloth seats, and exterior. The front windshield is cracked from a

mishap while in my garage. I tried to take all the pictures that a serious buyer would want. Not flattering but

honest. Many extra parts, all trim, replacement head with carbs, Behelfs Catalog, new rocker panels, spare tire and

some tools.

trying to post pictures. trying...

OK, this isn't the best service but it works (photobucket). I wanted to preserve the detail of my pictures. Thanks for your patience. I know that there are different types of shoppers, some looking for that near perfect car that they don't have to get dirty from and others that enjoy getting their hand on it and have the talent to create something beautiful. Also, for those of you that do not live close to the San Francisco Bay Area I hope these pictures help guide your decision. It may be foolish but as a fellow car guy, I know you want the details. I hope the details do not end up killing this thread, lol. There is a description of each picture at the top, you may have to move your mouse to un-hide it.

Here are pictures of the body of my coupe.

Here are engine pictures.

If they don't upload they are too large. Open on your computer, right click edit, click downsize, select size, hit OK. You will still need to save the new photo or your edit will be lost.

I am here in Alameda ready to look today.
Can you contact me?
BTW - what's the price?

Private message please- I'm 30 minutes away.

Thanks!

Don

I have not looked at all of your pictures, but I think you are seriously undervaluing your car.

I would put a decent complete project at 10k+

I know California is a competitive car market, but I would put a good project between 11-15k.

Again I have not looked closely at your pictures and probably shouldn't post this.

But a complete, low rust car makes sense around 10k and up

i would be happy to arrange your PPI.
Are you offering 10k?

Let me know.

Offer!

Thanks Don, we all appreciate the hard work you do on these cars. I would be interested, but I have a CSi and its blue too.... (same shade)

I just figured that if shipment/hassle is worth ~3k, then @10k the car is actually 7k or ~€6k. So it's almost spot on....

I vote we call wheeler dealers and nominate this car, they can pay more just like the fjord tii ;).

At the end of the day we the people and the cars aren't hiding, it should be a fair deal across the board.

I personally don't think our cars have arrived until a project is worth 10k+.

It's a csi too (euro only)

Sven is looking for you to join the next meet up. Good people up there.

NW meeting

Thanks Don, I seldom drive the coupe currently, but look forward to getting out more and meeting fellow owners.

I want the engine... I'd like to take my time rebuilding a stock motor with the D-jet. So whoever buys it, I'll buy the complete engine
Don't know what the price of this is -- 3000 and 8000 + ?? This your way of auctioning it off?
I'll offer 5 grand. Do Paypal?

Short Block

If you need an original CSI bottom end, I know of several that could be had..You also might need to replace the cam in the head you have... PM or call..

Nice looking car, but it's not what I'd call "low rust." Based on a quick skim of the pics, it sort of looks like the bottoms of the A-pillars are nearly gone and the front fenders are pretty rusty. It's not a really rusty car, so maybe it'd be fair to call it "typically rusty."

But, since rusty parts cars go for $5k or so, I agree that this one might be worth more than 10k
