1972 BMW 3.0CSi Coupe W/Sun Roof

I like the Hemmings car, that's what they go for if it truly is solid nowadays.

Hi guys,

I am really interested in the white Csi. Has anyone seen this car? I might get a PPI but I don't know if anybody has dealt with Auto Turismo sport. The car sounds good, and it was at Huntingridge motors. The partner who has the car now split off from them. He is willing to do $48k which sounds enticing if it is a solid car. The compression test results were between 180-185.

You live in Los Angeles. This car has no A/C. If you are going to drive the car, you will be uncomfortable during the summer months. My opinion.

Very true, it doesn't have AC. I have been looking for an AC car, but I can always add it? I do have that problem with my current classics now, and it does suck to drive in a sauna.

My friend Philip Rose saw and drove the White CSi on 4/18/15 when it was at Hunting Ridge. It was owned by a BMW CCA President and enthusiast. Phil said it was very solid and straight, had a miss/stumble while driving and has no seat belts.

Easier said than done, the console pieces are a challenge to find in good shape. Plus tearing it apart to install the evap unit.

I second that. Most coupes available in the US are US delivery cars, and virtually all US delivery cars came with AC. My point being that for a US buyer, the odds are better of finding an AC than a non-AC coupe.

Interesting that the white Csi has Texas plates - it really must have been unpleasant to drive there.

I'm wondering why it has been for sale for a while? From talking to the new owner it sounds that some metal has been replaced. Did Phil notice any rust?

Easier to add a 3.5L and a stickshift and D/L-jet injection than to add AC or a Sunroof to a CSi w/o those.

No mention of rust, car looked really clean and straight. Phil is a stickler for factory correctness and this caught his interest. He didn't buy it because of the asking price only. He's also not a fan of the velour.

It's a very nice #2-#3 car, although would need a PPI given all that rattle-can black paint underneath that looks somewhat fresh.

BTW, what are these hoses for under the hood?

Are those studded snow tires? Pic # 20 of 93, studs in one tire, empty in the other 3, too much goop on the fuel lines, mine have some black paint, but undercoating is a no-no. Sorry, for 48K I'm not liking it- just me

If the white picture of the hood is of this car it seems 'funky' to me....that's right I used the word FUNK (feels kinda good actually )....

But seriously if the screws show rust like that why would someone spend the asking price....presentation is key to ask for what you want, instead it is the other way around....
