I purchased a new right side turn signal and wiper switch from W&N (part No. 61 31 1 352 852), but it doesn't have the same wiring termination or configuration (colours that is) as my existing one. Can someone please let me know which one you'd expect to find on a '72 e9?

The single connector plug at the bottom of the picture is my existing one and the top one's the new one?

Thanks.

My 72 has the single connector if I recall correctly, it has been a while since I opened it but I recall one connector and at most one individual loose wire around it.

James,
my 72' e9 RHD also uses the white 9pin square block connector.
do the colours of individual wires on the new switch match the older connector wires'?
I also bought one from w+n a while ago, I thought w+n just didn't bother to reproduce the old connector blocks, PITA

Thanks for replies and sorry for the delay in my response. I forgot we where going away and my wife managed to find the only spot in the country with no phone signal or internet connection. Not that i'm complaining...

My mechanic was fitting it and according to him, although there are the same amount of wires on the new one, the colours don't match the existing wires. Making it a PITA to connect the new one to the existing block.

The thing that confused me is that W&N where adamant that it's the right part for the car, but at no point mentioned that they don't supply it fitted with a 9 pin connector block. Which started to make me wonder if at some point someone had fitted a later model switch to my car.
