The rust repairs on this car must have taken at least a week.......

Numerous small items are still missing despite what the guy in the video says.

Right Greg, spotted a couple early on. Incorrect radio, it is for the E3 Bavaria. Even says it on the radio. The clamshell is missing the two tabs. The ones that always crack.
Please correct me but I have not seen this configuration before, a small point.

Toolbox is mounted under the lid cover, Bavaria radio was not sold for E3 Bavaria and is post-E9, wrong seat back leather without the folds, e3/12 jack in trunk, gas filler boot is not mounted to fender.

This is as close to a new E9 as you're going to get from a body and frame standpoint. This is basically a totally new shell. That must have cost a small fortune in bodywork alone. Fixing the things that aren't perfect are just a matter of getting into the nuts and bolts to make it a 100 point restoration. Things that are bolt in, like the radio or the jack can be readily cured. I'm curious as to how high it will go in this market, but I expect it will bring a high price.

It looks like a beautiful restoration and a significant amount of work done. To me at least, it is sort of confusing as to the origins of the car. In the driving video, the driver states that it was delivered new to the U.S. However, it is a fuel injected CSI, which was a euro only car and based on the rear badging, fog light and FI engine. Considering the features in the car, it would seem consistent with a USA spec car and is more highly contented than a typical euro e9. It has an electric sunroof (vs. crank or no sunroof), power windows all around (vs. front crank handles, rear electric), it has air conditioning and leather seats (vs. velour). I imagine there may have been original ordered euro spec coupes from new with all of these features, but it seems mostly consistent with a USA delivered car, as the driver states in the driving video. Leads me to believe that the car was altered into a CSi? Not sure if anyone on here can verify if this was a USA or euro version. In any event, would be interesting to know the origins. I thought that these were unibody cars? The rear pillars in the restoration photos are cut and not sure how, if at all, the integrity of the body is affected by the cutting and re-welding of the body. Considering the high state of the restoration, I would think they would have included the same type wheel in the spare tire well at least. Then there is the car being located in Poland and what is involved in getting the car imported and how experienced is the seller in handling the paperwork and shipping. Anyway, some thoughts I had on this coupe.

Chris, here all along I thought the "Bavaria" radio was exclusive to the Bavaria model. What am I missing here? Bavaria radio in a Bavaria car.

@enoz05 would know, but I think they came out initially for the E12. They were built by Blaupunkt, but BMW branded. I put a low end one (AM FM mono) in my Bavaria only because I liked the idea of the BMW brand and a Bavaria in a Bavaria.
