1973 E9 Door Trim Panel Help

Attaching the door pull handle the upper wood appears that there is a bushing that attaches the upper handle/plastic to the wood/door. There is a hole in the wood but no fastener can anyone advise how this is attached please?

IIRC, the coarse phillips screw just screws into the metal door itself.

The diagram above says "self-tapping", so I'm betting with Chris, that into the inside metal door skin it goes...

Later cars like e12 have a plastic insert in the door metal, coupe doesn’t. And they are pretty big screws!
