Atlanta car. 2240607. Anyone know the story on this? Sorry if I've missed previous discussion. Tax season just wrapped up. If no rust, seems like a good deal.

Thanks

the coupe is not a concours or highly restored car ... its a very good driver in my opinion. strong engine.

"Nobody notices Polaris" How about the time I pulled up to a "T" stop sign in my Polaris and I guy dining outdoors directly across from me stood up and applauded. He sure noticed.

Polaris gets a different kind of "notice." True, Polaris does not POP! What is does do is show off the lines, the curves, the sculpturing of the body in the mind of the designer, the Count.

And I love the Verona red color of a buddy's coupe. I call it "whore red" and that's a compliment. Steve

don't get me wrong - i had mentioned to Steve, that my wife loved his polaris ... and that i had been toying with the idea of selling my black coupe and getting a polaris. that's when he told me the story of the two together. the point is, not that polaris is bad ... just, when juxtaposed next to a wild 70's color it becomes more of a wallflower compared to the expressive color.

polaris, fjord and chamonix are understated colors that look elegant on a coupe ... pretty in their own right ... just not as expressive.

Last Sunday we drove to the beach over the hill with my wife and Verona. Five minutes into the trip my wife tells me that a lady in another car on the highway was taking a picture of ours. It is either Verona or I am being tailed by the FBI or something.

Oh, the applause when dinning outdoors is a way to call for service from inside...

Oneils and RS are both correct, I get noticed in my Polaris from those in the know but my friend's Verona ANNOUNCES its presence to all! I can often slip by unwary bystanders, he cannot.

Both have their virtues. I love the whore description and will pass that along to him.

This thread is relevant to my interests. :) I have a '71 Granada, which looks similar to Verona. My paint is faded so I don't have a great handle on the color as of yet. I'm not a huge fan of red cars. I'm not sure if I should repaint it, or stay with the factory color. I would stay within the factory color range, just not red. I love Polaris btw...

BTW - I borrowed Charles's car for my Alpina Wheel Question thread. In my defense, I asked for forgiveness.

I have had the fortune of owning 6 coupes: two fjords, Baikal, Chamonix, sienna, and Polaris. I loved each color. I thought the Chamonix would be boring, but it was quite a nuanced and subtly pleasing color; even the sienna is brilliant (in direct sunshine) and gets plenty of compliments. But...I bought a Polaris/red coupe based almost on the color combo alone. To me, it is the quintessential German color; metal and blood. Verona and other louder colors are cool, but it's the color you see first, not the car; I think it should be the other way around.

Polaris

I think in the 1970's I might have appreciated Polaris more than now.
Today, look at a BMW Dealership and you see black, white, and 10 shades of grey.
When I am at the airport parking lot, there is a sea of grey cars.

Don't get me wrong, Polaris with red leather is terrific, but so is Turkis with palomino leather.

My coupe started at Chamonix and I have kept it that way. If I were inclined to change, it would be Turkis, or Ceylon, mmm maybe Taiga:mrgreen:

The coupe makes any color look great. Metallic Teal or Turkis is one of my least favorite colors on a vehicle. I'm in my 30's, so I spent my dearly driving years around Pontiac sunfires, and chevy cavaliers sporting this color along with metallic purple. I was driving Volvo's and VW's with more traditional colors at the time.

I really like that muted grey E9 that another PNW poster has. It's beautiful.
