As you know, 1973 was a unique year to the E9. The front 'dagmars" pointed down and the 2.5 mph mandated crash bumpers resulted in the rear bumper sitting out from the body of the car supported by hoops over which a decorative black plastic(?) piece was installed.

I have a 2 fold question.
a) how many 1973 E9's actually have 1973 bumpers on them
b) how many would want reproduction black plastic covers?

Hi Stan,
I haven't decided yet, but was assuming I'd tuck the rear bumpers in a bit. But if you organize a run of the rubber covers, I'd likely get in on it regardless.
Thank you - Stephen

I have 73 bumpers but my rubber bumper support covers look good at least from the top. I doubt I would buy replacements now unless they were really reasonable. Here is a pic of one.

I have the '73 bumper rubber spacers. They were cleaned and painted at the restoration shop, and now look driver quality. But they are still 47 years old. The first pic is before they were painted. But when your car is Turkis, who's looking at rear bumper spacers??

Stan, since mine look good and my car has a couple of very visible cosmetic issues such as front seats and headliner, these are really low on my want list. If a limited production run was done and I bought a pair, I would just store them until they were needed some day maybe even by the next owner. Given that, I would contribute up to a hundred bucks to get to a large enough order to support a run.
